Redefine and Reshape your Nose with Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)
Rhinoplasty, also known as a “nose job” is one of the most commonly performed plastic surgery procedures. It can create a more balanced and harmonious facial appearance with a more refined nose. When considering changing the shape, size, or contour of the nose, it is important to have it done with an experienced surgeon. Dr. Scott Farber is an industry leader specializing in face and neck procedures and very experienced in rhinoplasty.
The nose is the central feature of the face, and asymmetry or unwanted features of the nose can disrupt facial harmony and may leave you feeling less confident. In addition to appearance, your nose plays a functional role in breathing as well. Disruptions of anatomy may lead to problems and discomfort with breathing.
The key to a beautiful and natural-looking nose job is careful analysis, communication, and attention to detail. It is important that you choose a plastic surgeon who has the technical expertise and experience to help you achieve your goals with nose surgery (rhinoplasty). At Hill Country Plastic Surgery, Dr. Farber will improve the appearance of your nose and correct any breathing issues, if present. Every nose is completely different, and every patient requires a customized approach to achieving your rhinoplasty goals.
How is Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty) Performed?
Initial consultation with Dr. Farber will establish exactly what you want your new nose to look like. It is important that you discuss with Dr. Farber exactly what features you do not like about your nose, so he can create a tailored plan to give you the results you desire! Dr. Farber will carefully examine the external appearance and internal structures of the nose. This will allow him to create a plan that maximizes safety and efficiency, as well as cosmetic and functional results.
Reshaping the nose involves meticulous technique performed by an experienced surgeon very familiar with the face and its delicate features. Dr. Farber will ensure that your surgery will address your ideal nose size that suits your anatomy. By making a small incision on your columella, and inside your nose, Dr. Farber can access the underlying structure of the nose to correct it. On occasion, cartilage grafts may be needed to support the new shape. Rhinoplasty is an outpatient procedure, so you can expect to go home after surgery.

What can I expect after rhinoplasty (nose job)?
Following nose surgery in San Antonio, your nose will be splinted for about a week to stabilize it and support proper healing. During the first week, most of the visible bruising should resolve. You can expect to return to work, school, or your usual activities in about 1 week. The main swelling typically subsides in a few weeks.
How much does a rhinoplasty (nose job) cost?
The cost of a rhinoplasty (nose job) varies from patient to patient. All noses are different, and some need more correction than others. It is recommended that you come in to see Dr. Farber to get your customized rhinoplasty consultation.
Will my nose need to be broken?
Not every rhinoplasty (nose job) requires breaking the bones, however it all depends on the shape you start with and the shape you want to achieve. Consultation with Dr. Farber can clarify if you need this during your procedure.
Can I see the results right away?
For drastic corrections, yes you will see the changes as soon as the splint is removed. For the finer corrections to the tip, for example, your nose shape will continue to improve as swelling continues to subside for up to a year.
Are there any other procedures that may complement a rhinoplasty (nose job)?
Ear surgery, facial implants, and chin augmentation can all complement the changes made during a rhinoplasty. Careful evaluation of your facial features can help determine if you may be a candidate and benefit from any of these additional procedures.
