To customize a facial implant, Dr. Farber obtains a CT scan of your face to get precise measurements of your facial bone structure. Individualized measurements allow him to design a custom-tailored implant to enhance your unique facial anatomy. This highly detailed process ensures the implant will fit perfectly with your underlying bone structure. How is face implant surgery performed?

To place cheek implants (cheek augmentation) or jaw implants, incisions are placed inside your mouth and the implants are positioned to fit seamlessly with the natural bone contour of your face. To perform a chin augmentation, an incision is made either inside the mouth beneath the chin, and the implant is then inserted. All facial implant surgeries are performed as an outpatient procedure.

What to expect during your consultation?

Our process, step by step.

Step one:

During the initial consultation with your surgeon at Hill Country Plastic Surgery, we will discuss your concerns and personal aesthetic goals before recommending treatment options, tailored specifically to your situation. Prior to your consultation, you can review the procedures on our website so you are familiar with the various surgical techniques that could be employed to achieve the look you envision.

Step two:

Once we understand your concerns and surgical goals, we will discuss your treatment options. Every patient is unique, and we will develop a custom-tailored surgical plan to achieve your individual aesthetic goals. In addition, we will thoroughly review your medical history, surgical history, medications, allergies, family medical history, and other important details. It is very important that we obtain accurate information in for these issues to ensure the procedure goes perfectly, and that your recovery is uneventful.

Step three:

While discussing different treatment options, we will perform a physical exam and take measurements that are necessary for planning for your surgery. Pre-operative (before surgery) photos will be taken either at your initial consultation, or during your pre-operative visit.

Step four:

After your consultation, you will receive access to your notes on the patient portal in addition to information about your specific surgery. If you have not activated your patient portal, this can be done at your appointment by asking any of our staff to assist you. If you have questions after your appointment, you can contact our office or message us through the patient portal. Some patients will require medical clearance from their primary care physician or a specialist or additional tests before undergoing surgery.
